Thumbnail Filmstrip of Field Creance - Sturdy, Compact & Handy - 50 Yards of 130 Pound Dacron Line Images
Description
FIELD CREANCEHere is a handy item that every falconer should have in his bag. It has 50 yards of 130 pound dacron line wound around a hardwood dowel with the line securely tied to the dowel.
This field creance is used for the initial stages of training with a young hawk. It can also be used later in the field when a longer line is necessary. Sometimes a hawk may have killed, eaten, and flown off prior to the falconer arriving. The hawk may not allow the falconer to get close but a pigeon can be set out on a long line to get the hawk to come back. Then the hawk can be "wound up" by walking in very large circles around it which will bind the hawk up so you can make in and retrieve your hawk.
